About this Event

These awards recognize the outstanding contributions of contractors and subcontractors to the   local construction industry, celebrating those who go beyond traditional practices. Exceptional  construction not only builds durable structures but also creates a lasting impact, inspires communities, and enhances the quality of life.

The SBCA Construction Awards reflect the values and goals of our region’s construction professionals by addressing broader industry challenges through professional, unique, and innovative approaches. We understand that our members undertake a diverse range of projects, each with its own distinct identity and complexity. We value creativity, technical excellence, and  the ability to deliver solutions that advance the field of construction.

Submissions should demonstrate a strong connection to innovative construction solutions,  environmental stewardship, and purposeful design. We honor projects that are not only well executed but also effectively address the evolving needs of the industry.

Your submission should demonstrate the following measures of excellence: 1. Craftsmanship: Does the project display high levels of craftsmanship in construction? Are the  quality and precision of the work evident in the details and finishes? How do the contractor's  techniques and skills contribute to the overall success of the project?

Did it address these requirements  successfully? Is the relevance and value of construction evident in the submission? Do the  presentation materials clearly depict the context?

3. Inspiration: Does the project represent an innovative construction approach that is relevant and  inspiring? Is the construction well-executed, given the stated project program? Do the materials  presented articulate the ambitions and execution of the design?

4. Environmental Sensitivity: Does the project exhibit serious intent to minimize negative  environmental impacts and enhance the natural environment? Were sustainable construction  practices employed, and how were they implemented by the contractor?

5. Integration of Design and Construction Execution:  Was the architectural and design vision effectively realized through the construction process?  Did the project demonstrate a seamless integration between design intent and construction execution, maintaining the integrity of both?  Did the collaboration between the design/architectural team and the construction professional contribute to the project's overall success?   Were innovative construction methods or materials used to fulfill the design goals, and did they positively impact the outcome?
