THE NEXT GENERATION OF BUILDERS!

Join us for the SBCA + TRADART 2026 Open House & Social Mixer on Thursday, November 19, at Santa Barbara High School’s woodshop! Come explore the state-of-the-art wood and technology shops, meet the instructors and students, and see firsthand the skills being developed by the next generation of our local construction workforce.

Some of these students recently attended CIEF Trades Day, where they got a closer look at careers in the trades. Now they’re back in the shop, working hard, building projects, and developing the hands-on skills that could make them your future employees, apprentices, and industry partners.

This is a great opportunity to see what’s happening in our local schools, connect with the students preparing to enter the trades, and learn how programs like TRADART are helping build the future of our industry.

What to Look Forward To:

• Explore the Shops: Tour Santa Barbara High School’s wood and technology shops and see where students bring their projects to life.
• Meet the Next Generation: Connect with students who are learning practical skills and preparing for careers in construction.
• Discover Ways to Get Involved: Learn how you can support local trades education and help create pathways into the construction industry.
• Mix, Mingle & Connect: Enjoy food, drinks, and casual networking with SBCA members, local contractors, and others in our building community. (no alcohol as on school property)

This event celebrates the free technical skills training available through our public schools and supports the Build and Construction Technology programs across all six Santa Barbara Unified School District woodshops.
